Barbara Kruger worked with mass- media images of women like “Your body is a battleground, 1989”4 and “ It’s a small world but not if you have to clean it, 2000 ”, she love to use women photograph be her poster image and combining them with text to suggest the sub-messages about female submission and vulnerability that they were designed to communicate.5 As a postmodern feminist artist, she through her artwork to spread out the message of concerning feminism and women’s rights.

In 1986, she did “ We don’t Need another Hero”  billboard project, in London. In another explanation “ We don’t Need another Hero” means, we only need one hero which is talking about the image of a young girl and boy behind the texts. Here, Barbara Kruger used hero this words to deconstruct power and social role , because as a hero not only means focusing on muscularity, but also need to be smart. In this image, the girl is leaning over to the boy’s arm, and pointing to his muscle. In fact the girl respect the boy’s muscle are strong and powerful that reflecting the real society female is the mastermind, though their language, gesture and pose to control men’s behavior. Women also can be a hero.
