9 last-minute, free and DIY Christmas gift ideas

This year the holidays have been extra difficult which is why we've put together a list of some free, DIY, and last-minute gift ideas for you, all by queer creators or businesses! 

1. Send a Gift Card

If you missed the shipping deadline, send an electronic gift card instead! That way they can pick out exactly what they want while you continue to support small, local & queer owned businesses. You can find our gift cards here.

2. Send a digital magazine subscription

We are huge fans of the digital magazines from Butch Is Not A Dirty Word, the world’s only print magazine dedicated to butch identity, visibility, and voice. Send someone a copy immediately with their digital downloads. View them here.

3. A digital poetry chapbook from Already Felt Poems

Already felt is a project centering queer and trans Black poets & poets of color curated by Alexis Aceves Garcia, Danilo Machado & Devyn Mañibo. They offer a sliding scale price structure. Score a digital version of their chapbooks here

4. Bake something

We love this Italian Holiday cookie recipe from Dan Pelosi (@grossypelosi). They're delicious, cute and decorated with our favorites...rainbow sprinkles!

5. Print out a free coloring book

6. Make an ornament

7. Get a custom portrait

Our friends at GoodSnake make the hippest and cutest illustrated portraits. It won't arrive in time for the holiday, but let your loved one know it's on the way! Learn more about them here

8. Make a custom planter

All you need is a terracotta planter, some paint or paint markers, and creativity. We love the planters and pots from Plant Gay to give us inspiration. Not crafty? Send them a plant instead direct to their door. 

9. Donate to a favorite charity

There are too many to choose from, but some of our favorite queer organization to donate to are The Marsha P. Johnson Institute, For the Gworls, Allgo, and Out Youth
